Question who runs a street port with stock twins? experience.. not "i hear that..."

motor died at 95,000 miles.

sending the motor to pineapple for rebuild and possibly a "mild" street port.

dont plan on going single.

what can i expect in driveability and power. is it worth the several hundred dollars? or does it only benefit people who are runnning single turbos.

keeping my mods of

twinpower
dp
cb
ypipe
intake
power fc (will timing of the motor be affected greatly?)
Front mount intercooler
main underdrive pulley
fuel pump
stock twins (max psi of 13.5)

thanks, Q

There will be a noticeable difference in power, mostly in the upper-rpm range. You shouldn't lose any driveability.

You can examine my sig to see all the stuff on my 7. My exhaust ports are stock but my intake ports have been extensively ported and polished. Evidently Dave at KDR left the exhaust ports stock b/c of my stock twin setup. I love the way my FD drives--not much below 3k, decent from 3 to 5, and screams from 5 to 8

Most important thing is after breakin get the car tuned on a dyno with a wideband and *datalogit.*

PM me if you have any more questions

You will lose some bottom end, and like goodfellas said, your top end will be fantastic.

The FD used to pull hard until 7000 (before being ported) and then the power drops off. After a street port, the car pulls hard to redline. From 5000 rpm upwards, the engine takes on a new tone and pulls like a rapid pitbull.

Cheers
