Who is making swaybar mounts these days?

Discovered cracked driver side swaybar mount on my track car.....

Stock mount, has been tortured.

I see references to widefoot, but not clear is they are still being sold. Other options?

I could buy stock and have them welded reinforced, too

Mazdacomp should still be available and Racing Beat has the reinforcement brace.

If you don't have a Mazda Motorsports account, you can order the competition mounts from the fab shop directly.

Or if you have a v-mount (or V8) buy this cheaper one without the radiator tabs:

1993 -1995 Mazda RX7 sway bar bracket with LS Chevy conversion

SuperNow Japan has a nice billet bracket, I've got one. Don't know where to easily find it, though - I got it used on the classifieds.

I got mine from RHD Japan, which will cost ~$50 to ship.

Super Now Front Short Stabilizer Brackets FD3S - RHDJapan

The AWR mount is probably the better route if you have stock setup. Mazdatrix sells it as well

I bought the AWR (Sway Bar Bracket - 7304 ? 1993-1995 RX-7 - AWR Racing Store) brackets. Good quality, no issues with fitment. Mine came in powdercoated silver (not black as shown in the photos).

Care to elaborate?
AWR better for stock than SuperNow because.... why?
radiator support? change (or lack of change) of height?
Construction/quality? price? (just checked, they are almost exactly the same price)
Weight? something else?
Thanks! Looking forward to a response.

I've been on the group buy for the Widefoot mounts for well over a year. I think for 1/4 the price, I'm going to opt for the AWR or the SuperNow. Leaning towards the SuperNow. I do have a V-mount setup, and wouldn't mind raising the bar (HA!) a bit.

To clarify, I said the AWR mounts may be a better route, not that they were better. I believe the AWR is the exact same dimensions as stock, just beefier. The Super Now is shorter. To me, the stock setup is a balanced system and tweaking upsets that balance, hence the recommendation. If you are not stock and have different needs (i.e. shorter), the Super Now may be the better choice. That said, I have just installed the Super Now brackets (with a PFS sway bar) and don't have any feedback on them at the moment, but they appear comparable to the Widefoot brackets and are an option if the Widefoot brackets are hard to come by.

The sway bar is a low point on the chassis, and the stock mounts are designed to crumple instead of tweaking your frame. Something to consider when making this decision.

Good info.
Most of those are points I've already considered, but glad to hear someone else reinforcing my train of thought.
Thanks for the reply!

You can also easily 'box' reinforce the stock mounts and they will be plenty strong.

FYI.. someone on the No Rotors forum is putting together a group buy on sway bar mounts that are based on the Widefoot design. Just a heads up, I have no ties to this vendor.

Awesome!!!
Thanks for the link.
I've never visited the norotors forums, so wouldn't have found that on my own.
I wonder if that gentleman has an account here and could do something for us that have been waiting on the Widefoot GB for the last year and a half.

I tried making an account on norotors twice, and keep getting the error message:
"The user blmcquig is a spam. please contact forum administrator."
Lol. Maybe it just isn't meant to be.
Or maybe they just don't like my rotor-awesomeness, and won't let me in because I don't have a V8.

Sorry for the frustration that the No Rotors account registration is causing, but I had to laugh a little bit. It took me countless attempts and about a month before I could use this forum... and the thought occurred to me that maybe a V8 RX7 wasn't welcome here. I'll PM you with info on this group buy as it becomes available.

Intend to try this eventually. Have the RB brace and running 255 street tires with an adjustable bar set soft...I've had no issues. Not certain that will be enough though if I ever get R compounds and go back to autocross. Mr. MIG and I will have a go at a set of old mounts I have.
