I've read that the only thing you lose is the "Hold" feature on the Tranny. No big woop. 4.30s will make it up

To me The HOLD is the BEST feature of the FD's Auto - To Keep it Run the PFC as a PiggyBack unit and keep the Stock ECU also.

yeah no ****.Thats the only way I drive my car is in hold mode all the time.i like having control over the gears and when they shift.but im kinda intimidated by manuals because you have to have that perfect balance when starting out in first gear and then being on hills while stopped really freaks me out when the car starts to roll down hill.Im determined to conquer my weakness though. So im going to swap to a manuall tranny eventually.

Yeah, I just lost my engine and that was with a car that was only hitting 11 - 12 psi. One cold night's romp was all it took.
Sigh.

I heard about an auto car with an upgraded torque convertor and apexi single turbo kit, PFC and datalogic / and some custom work done to the auto computer ( to correct the shift points). It also had 4.30 gears. I am sure it had other mods too. This guy only has one leg. But they said he runs 11.4's in the car. At least I think that's what they said. The car dynoed @ 340 HP. This came from a very good source. Chris Ott @ rx7.com.

I talked to Jason and he confirmed the only thing with the PFC on the auto is you lose your Hold feature

your sig:

A few of my mods.
Carbon fiber Scoot hood, sparco pins
Marvelspeed street port & 3mm seals
T78 kit polished turbo myself
Greddy 2 row front mount
Extreme fuel system from rx7store
PFC and Datalogit
Polished upper and lower manifolds
DEI wrapped down pipe
Tokico struts and Eibach springs
Power slot rotors and Edlebrock lines
K & N filter
Auto soon to be manual

you have a T78, and the auto tranny is still alive! i always thought the auto tranny was only good for about 300whp... you must be pushing 400whp+ with those mods. how many times have you rebuilt the tranny?

You can not control the boost with the auto (atleast I couldn't). I had a ported wastegate and ProfecB and still had a bad boost spike in between shifts. Sometimes up to 15psi, which led to the death of my motor.

Before I did "THE" swap i ran a 9.0@83mph with a 2.6(damn auto) 60 ft in the 1/8th mi.
