who has the fastest 1/4 mile time with the stock auto tranny?

Hey guys, i was just wondering what the stock auto tranny is capable of. I in no way shape or form drive or would drive an automatic rx7, but im curious. Dont take offense to me not driving or wanting an auto rx7, its just not my cup of tea. So, i would like to know what some of the forum members or other 3rd gen rx7 owners have ran with their STOCK auto tranny.

Adam

Please no auto tranny bashing in this thread.

thats pretty quick for an auto.I wonder if the auto tranny is completely stock though or does ej have an upgraded torque converter? Im starting to have second thoughts about swapping to a 5 speed.

I have never ran mine in the quarter, but I know it is faster than my friends mustang with a chevy 350 in it. His car runs consistent 13's and I beat his car pretty bad on the street.

Are you sure that was before the 5-speed swap?

Yes I did get it, My car is a manual tranny car now. My Auto was slowly going out on me and performing very strangely after I went non sequential, up'd the boost and put an aftermarket ECU on it. It honestly felt just as strong as, when I swapped the Manual in and put the stock ECU back in running stock boost.

The only thing that sucks about the AUTO is launching

I ran vs. a GT Pony who claimed he was running 13.50s and beat him. This is before I'm installing 4.30s in the rear and rebuilding my primary turbo.

i was refering to ejmack.Umm quick question for you though.youre running 4 mods and no fuel computer?
hows the boost creep since youre running a downpipe and midpipe catback and intake?
im currently running a catback and intake and I see 12 psi of boost when I get on it so im very weary of getting a downpipe let alone a midpipe.Sometimes ive had the psi spike up to 1 bar which is almost 15 psi.scary ****.

I only see 15-16 psi when I go WOT while already at hwy speeds. So I back off pretty fast! Running 1/4 mile at WOT only spikes to 12psi at secondary turbo transition but quickly goes down to 8psi and then to a solid 10 maybe 11 at end of 1/4 mile run. I'm installing a MagnaFlow 3" Catalytic Converter on my MP next week in hope that it will take care of my excess boost isuues.
Boy do I hate Fuel Cut-Off!!!!

so what are your quarter mile times then?
im curious. Also you didnt asnwer my question about the fuel computer. Are you running a stock ecu or what? if you are and youre hitting 15 to 16 psi im amazed.Since everyone on here says its a really bad idea to go past 10 or 11 psi on a stock ecu.How long have you been running your car like this anyways? Sounds to me like you can run 15 psi on the stock ecu afterall.

I don't let it hit 15-16 psi for long. Maybe only .5 to 1 second. Otherwise KABOOOOM!!! Yep, I I know I'm playing with disaster by running stock ECU. If the Cat-Converter doesn't tame my boost, I'm going to have to buy a PFC for proper management.
