Who has a dual tip 3" outlet muff on their FD??

I currently have an HKS Super Drager single 5" outlet cat. Magnaflow sells an oval S/S muff with dual 3" outlest, 3" inlet. I want to keep the "stock" look, but do not want to compromise performance. I think the dual 3" outlets might actually help a little. Your thoughts. Thanks.

Looks like my FD will be the only one dual 3" outlets. I'll post a photo of the Magnaflow and relay info on performance, or lack-of, after the install.

The tips shouldn't make much difference

Which one are you getting? I couldn't find a 3" inlet with dual out from Magnaflow. I will keep looking.

I just called a local dealer and it sounds like they have plenty to choose from in that category so I am going to have one installed tomorrow as well. He said it was $101 for the muffler and about $30-70 installed. That was just a random muffler fitting the 3" inlet and dual 3" outlet. Thanks for the tip on magnaflow! I will let you know how it sounds as soon as I get it installed (this week hopefully).

GarageBoy: Most aftermarket high performance dual outlet "Back-Cats" have 2 1/2 inch diameter outlets. The Magnaflow S/S muffler #14298 has dual 3" outlets (tips). I think bigger is better.

hehe Well, I am going to his shop tomorrow so he can get measurments. Turns out the guy is an old "Rotor head" himself and was interested in seeing how big the stock muffler is and how big of a muffler we can fit in there. He said he wasn't sure that the mufflers could get me from 105-112db currently down to 95 DEQ requirements so I am re-installing the stock muffler for that, then installing the new one.

I will give him the model # you have and see what he says, niether of us had any idea which one, but he said there are quite a few. I hope it doesn't take long, I might just take the stock muffler off and keep the 3" pipe no muffler Just untill I get the muffler

I am not sure the muffler will fit without cutting out part of the rear skirting under the bumper. Guess you will find out tommorrow.

Do you guys have to buy tips for the muffler or do you use the existing ones??

Also, are you getting new piping back to the cat. or are the using the stock pipe and welding the new muffler on?

The FD I am buying this week is coming with a Pettit dual tip exhaust. Can't comment on performance or sound at the moment, but the previous owner says he loved it best out of all the exhuasts he had.

The Magnaflow comes with dual 3 inch diameter outlets that only extend 3 inches out. So you would need to buy a couple of S/S "polished" tips and screw them (or tac weld) onto the outlets for a finished look. Hope this makes sense!!. Also FYI....the Magnaflow S/S "14298 body is 18 inches long and oval shapped. The FD muffler bay is big enough to hold this muffer.

The best tips I've found are Honda OEM. They're about $30 bucks each at your local Honda dealer. Chrome, rolled, attach with a 10 mm bolt. Nice:

Yeah those are really nice. Too bad they won't work with my new Magnaflow. My muff will require 2 seperate S/S/tips that are 3" diameter and about 5" in length at about $25.00 each. OUCH!!.

Racing Beat dual tip is 3". You wont be the only 3" dual tip FD out there but you will be the one of the very few "custom" dual 3" out there. The 3" will definately be better flowing than a stock exhaust. Good luck and let us know how it sounds.

Man that looks pretty SICK!!. Actually I don't have a "Stock" muff. I have an HKS Super Drager (single 5" outlet). But the damn thing is to big (about the size of a BBQ pit) and always rubs on those speed bumps and and it's also way too loud. So that's why i'm replacing it with the Magnaflow dually. Thanks.

Yes, the SuperDragger is a bit on the BIG side. How big is stock? (inlet pipe)

Stock looks the same on the outside as my 3" Racing Beat, but with the heat shields, thick wall tubing, and rough welds it is probably more like 2.5" inside diameter.

SyderJL: My exhaust consists of a 3" S/S Pettit DP flange bolted to a 3" MP flange bolted to a 3" short pipe welded to the HKS Super Drager Muff with a single 5" outlet-S/S tip.

Yeah I have the RB dual and I wouldnt trade it for any other exhaust at the moment. I had a single tip before and it was just way to buzzy. This one is nice and throaty till you really get on it then it howls. Laterz

Hoping to install this week-end. Having trouble locating two 3.25" S/S Roll-Tips to place on the 3"outlets. I don't want to use chrome. The S/S Magnaflow looks great. I'll post info on sound and performance (vs. my HKS) once the install is done. Thanks.

I've been longing for the RB Dual Tip and almost bought it a couple of times. But, now that I'm probably gonna spend double what I budgeted for my new wheels and tires, I need to economize somewhere and I found this exhaust:

It has a single 2.5" input and dual 3" outputs, and supposedly fits my FD just fine??? Oh yeah, and it costs $145 shipped.

Should I get this sucker or bite the bullet and get the RB for $400 more?
