Who has done the turbo simplification? Comments? Experiences?

I've done the simplification (with much help from Mindphrame). The Double Throttle (DT), Air Control Valve (ACV), and Accellerated Warm-up System (AWS) were removed and blocked off. It's hard to tell what I've gained other than a large amount of knowledge and a stinky exhaust at low revs. I can't be 100% sure, but it feels like the car has more power, especially on the low end. However, my airpump began chirping, just like Mindphrame's did just before his siezed, so I unplugged it and let it freewheel. Anyone else have this experience?

Check your belt, it could be damaged or loose

Mine didn't squeak since my car already came with a midpipe. BUT, mine also came with the air pump disconnected...you can leave it like that until you get a pulley kit...

I checked the belt, it's taught and unfrayed. Anyways, what are some opinions of the simplification?

My idle was high (1500-2000) after the simplification, but I slowed it down by adjusting the throttle and the idle bleed screw (a tidbit of experience I forgot to mention). When I unplugged the air pump only the chirping stopped and nothing else. I unplugged it while the engine was running.
