White smoke
So when I start my FD, alot of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. Also, a little bit of white smoke comes up from the left side of the engine block (when looking into the engine bay). I checked the coolant level and it is really low. I'm thinking this is a coolant seal that has gone bad and now the car is burning coolant.
My question is: would a blown coolant seal cause low compression? I ran a compression test on the rear rotor and it was only at 60PSI. I haven't ran one on the front rotor yet (it's harder to get to), but since the car still starts and runs im assuming this one should yield higher results.

Trashed coolant seals won't usually cause low compression. My seals were toast and all my compression numbers were within spec. What you are describing is coolant seal failure. If it's just the seals it's not too bad for parts and it's an easy rebuild. But while you're at it, why not do new apex seals and springs as well? Atkins has a kit with everything you will need for under 500 bucks. I did mine and am 10000 miles after the rebuild and couldn't be more pleased. Good luck.
