But preferably black\black.
Tyler,
As I recall, my friend David had a 94 R2 that was black on black. I'm not 100% on that, but I'm pretty sure (90%). The seats were black suede for sure. He got rid of the car a couple of years ago.

What's your basis for saying that? I have the factory sales brochures for all three years, 93-95, and all of them show the Brilliant Black exterior available with the black cloth interior. These would be base cars. And if you want to call the R-model seats black, you can throw those in too.
Really? My mistake. I'm pretty darn sure that the black leather was never an option with black cars though. It makes sense that the Base and R2 would come with black since those seats were never available in tan or red.

i always thought they came in black/black, but I could be wrong.
Thanks for the replies everyone, I'll find one sooner or later . My first FD was a white FD, and I found out the person I sold it to on this forum ruined it with a V8. I sold it in late 99', with 50k miles in pristine condition. It was a base model, and I loved the cloth seats and the fact that it didn't have a sunroof (looks better IMO). Miss the car so much that I know I'm never going to be satisfied until I get another white one.

Yes, that's right, no black leather with black exterior, but black cloth and black R model seats were available.
As a personal aside, I have the black leather, but the base cloth seats are greatly under-valued. If they're kept clean they can look as good today as the day they were made. Try that with the leather.
Yeah, I'll go along with that. You get more of the double bubble roof effect without the sunroof. I tried to get a base model when I bought my car new in '95. The salesman told me they weren't available. I knew he was wrong but I didn't argue because he was giving me such a good price. Plus I knew the head games I'd be playing with myself. If I had gotten a base car I'd start thinking about adding leather seats, etc. But there's a purity to the base model and it has some distinct advantages, IMO.
I would kill for a white RX-7. I almost bought one with an ugly *** blue and yellow stripe that went the length of the body just because it was white/black MT. I think it was around 12k, but it was obvious it was in at least a small accident. I backed out after the dealer tried to hide the fact it was in an accident even though I had the carfax.
Still have my White 95 Touring in amazing condition.
Only 50K.
Just put in new engine from KDR only 2K.
Just came across my window sticker from the dealer that list it at 41,892. Have spent that and alittle more over the past 12 years in upkeep and mods. Will keep on throwing in the $$$ to keep such a unique and well worth it ride.

What cost $41892 in 1995 would cost $54952.38 in 2006.

....Gotta be the same car I saw in MD a few years ago, yellow and blue stripe painted, going up the hood and the full length of the car. Had a supra style spoiler on it when I saw it. Hideous, I almost yelled at the seller.
'94 Base white with 82,000 miles JM1FD3337R0302XXX.
When I bought it new I really wanted it in white and I wanted the black cloth interior but I wanted the "go fast" R2. So... I bought my white base model and put the OEM R1/2 dual oil cooler setup on it, replaced the V rated Bridgestone's with Z's and finally (13 years later) replaced my dampers with a set of GAB Super R's. I'm happy.

there were origionally 670 white FDs produced, how many are left now is a mystery that wouldnt be easy to figure out but figure probably around 100 of those made are dead so roughly 500-570 remain.

If the sale figures are accurate....my '95 base is 1 of 13 in the US.

try this new link...old one didn't work for me.
The R models had the "black" synthetic suede seats. So if you want the R seats you'll have to find an R model car.
There may have been a few custom orders that violated these rules, and of course later owners could mix and match parts.
