Whistling sound when on throttle (w/Video)

Anyone had/heard of this before. I get a high pitched whistling sound like someone is blowing through a plastic straw when on throttle. I’ve looked through a couple threads stating it could be loose intercooler piping but it wasn’t that. It def sounds like it’s coming from the turbo area (stock twins). Just seeing if this was on obvious fix before I start tearing everything apart. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It kinda sounds like the airpump. If that is the case check to see if your hose (shown in pics) has any cracks and/or if silencer is still in place.

Most people describe it a a dying cow, dying kangaroo, dying goose Different animals but for some reason they are always dying

Edit-
For more threads just do a tittle search under "moo"

that’s too funny. Thanks. At least it’s a place to start. I’ll do more research under moo lol

Wasn’t the air pump, blocked it and it sounded even louder, but the “moo” doesn’t bother me as much, it’s that high pitched whistling sound.

sounds like it’s low and near the turbos

I just remembered that I had a similar issue 24 years ago.(yeah had to dig deep in the cobwebs of my mind for that one). My issue turned out to be the hotside intercooler pipe, it was cracked right at bottom side bend where it meets the IC. I think I saw that yours is a metal hardpipe so it is most likely not it. However, I would still check that whole line though, couplers and all.

Montego is right. It sounds like a piping issue around the intercooler or air intake or the infamous air pump moo. May also want to examine your Y pipe. I have heard of the top coupler leaking. I personally had a whistling sound that sounded like a stall horn in a Cessna under boost. Turns out my Y pipe was loose on my 2ndary turbo after I had installed the engine.

Lol. yeah I got the RE intercooler and piping so I doubt it’s that. But I’ll check it still. It’s sounds like somethings loose or disconnected but my idle isn’t acting up or anything and nothing obvious that I can see isn’t disconnected. And it is louder when I get under the car like it’s coming from the turbo area.

that might be closer to where I’m hearing the whistle come from. I’ll check that out as well. Thanks!
