where is the tachometer wire?

im hooking up an alarm/starter unit and it needs to sense the tachometer output. where can i find the wire that would output the tach status. i believe its in AC between 1-6volts.. thats what it says in the manual. according to JAMMNN's wiring diagram its a yellow/blue wire in the leading ignition coil, also coming through the firewall above the brake. i cant find either. someone help please.
