Where is my clutch pedal?? *clutch fluid issue*

I was going to work the other day saw the corner coming up, so I downshift in 3gear (I like to engine brake. sometimes heal and toe). All of sudden, I couldn't feel the clutch pedal while I was going down to corner exit of highway. I pulled over on the side try to find my clutch pedal, it was stuck on the ground. I kinda knew it had to do with fluid or master/slave cylinders, so I pop the hood. I see some fluid covered left side of engine room, so I kind drove back in very dangerous way( had no cellphone on me, a mile from my house, so I put in 1st gear drove all the way home ) Anyways, I tried to search for any thread regarding this matter can't seem to find any. I am going to refill the cluch fluid today and see what happens. Might be able to find where the leak is.

My question is it says I need dot3 fluid only for clutch fluid Can I use dot5 oil?
If there is a leak which line would be?
Is this right tank I am supposed to refill clutch fluide? (one of left engine bay ,white body with black cover)
Thank you guys!

u can't refill the clutch fluid, cause there is none, it uses the brake fluid so all u would use is brake fluid if it is low, but since it went down to the floor like that, it could your clutch slave

Do you have an aftermarket clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate? If so and you still have the rubber clutch line check that to make sure it didn't rupture. You can trace that line from the side of the brake fluid reservoir around if you need to.

I actually do have an aftermarket ACT clutch
I am not sure it's with p/p or not but it's one of those street use.
I just added clutch (brake)fluid and started car up, had some pressure on my clutch for a while then again no pressure. Check the hood see my brand new fluid all over the place. Yes, There is a leak. I am now by myself, and can't really check anything unless someone sits in the car and pump the clutch for me. sux.
Well, I guess I will just have to replace the one of the hose or slave.
I do have to breed it too right? damn that's pain in the butt.
Thanx for the help guys!

If the fluid is in the engine bay, it's not the slave cylinder.

If you brakes still work, then it's the rubber clutch line that has failed.

Yes my brakes still works fine.
Which line would it be. I see so many hoses covered in fluid can't really figure it out. plus my muffler is way to loud for me to start up the car in my apartment complex parking lot

Ya know, I've been meaning to replace that line with a stainless one. This thread is going to make me do it a lot soon I think.

There is a hard line on the firewall. It attaches to soft rubber hose which runs down to the slave cylinder (just to the drivers side of the MAP (Boost) sensor). Most likely, that's your problem. I'll see if I can find a picture to help point you in the right direction.

Dunno if this helps, but it's the hose attached to the clutch pipe in this diagram:

If fluid is everywhere, you have to find the leak. But, having brakes working is no indication of having or not having clutch fluid - there's a "wall" at the back of the brake master cylinder that separates the back section for clutch fluid. Reason being is if the clutch hydraulics fail, they don't take your brakes with it - that would be a BIG safety problem.

Use DOT3 brake fluid - don't mess with anything else.

If you see fluid everywhere, hose it off NOW - brake fluid EATS PAINT. Find your hydraulic leak, fix it, top off the fluid, and bleed the clutch hydraulics. If you aren't mechanically inclined, most any shop can do this sort of work, the FD's clutch hydraulics are pretty much just like any other import clutch setup. The only weird this is sharing the brake master cylinder's fluid reservoir.
