Arrow Where to install my power- FC purchased from Japan?

Recently, I HAVE bought the POWER FC FOR MY 93 FD, and the FC is tuned by feed in japan, and it came with the fd commander as well, also i am not sure if i know how to install it myself, and the mod. of the Power FC isn't based on my car's setting, i bought it used, the setting is for the j spec FD, not 99 spec though, and I dont' know where is the best place to install it becoz i don't trust ppl who don't know RX-7, so any help? and i want to know how can i set the FC and any particular things that i have to be careful about? any suggestion? and my car is not realli boosted, bcoz i only mod. some parts, :the trust exhaust, HKS twin power, feed pulley, hks twin air filter, hks front mount, toyo radiator, most of my works are just for cooling, not too much HP gained, so any good suggestion, I have problem with my FD, the only thing is when the fans turn on, the RMP starts creep, up and down if the car ran in hot condition.

Hope you bought the right one - pretty easy to tell:

bottom one is for the 8bit connector - if you have the top one - you're screwed.

it's easy to install yourself - just unplug the old one and plug the new one in - sounds like you'll need help though.

your best bet is to initialise (reset) the map and get a brand new tune. Tuning is best left to experts.

you need proper tuning with your mods.

The JDM Power FC's and FC's for American cars are different. The harness connections are not the same. If it is a Power FC designed for late model FDs you're gonna have a hard time installing it. If at all. Someone else will chime in on the specifics.

^See he beat me to it.

The Power FC is the most basic plug n play design on earth. It is VERY easy to install. Aside from a few wires being capped off, you just replace the stock ECU with it. If you're not confortable doing it yourself, I'm sure there are plenty of competant shops in LA. You can also do a search as to exactly which wires to disconnect.

Search the West Coast section of this forum. There are great shops in the So Cal area.

I wouldn't trust XS to put a stamp on a letter....they would probably do it wrong and charge you $10 in the process. You don't need tuning anyway. With your mods, you can just reinitialize the PFC to the default values and run the base map. You will be fine for 10-11 psi.

Seriously, if you can't physically install a PFC....well, I don't think you should even own a car, let alone an FD!
