The only ones I'm familiar with are DEFI 'D' Series. They match the stock gauges pretty well and were relatively inexpensive. But they've been discontinued for a couple of years. They still come up for sale now and then though.
And why do you need a "rev gauge"?

Check the solder joints on the back side. IIRC, there's some history of them breaking, but it's a relatively simple fix once you have access.

Maybe this will also help........

I agree with the DEFI D-series gauges. They light up almost exactly the same color as the FD cluster. I think it looks awesome actually. I have them in my car.

They're still available new here and there. I think if you go to Tein's site you can find them.

Question Defi D-gauge

searching for boost and water temp gauges too... as the Defi D-series has been discontinued - what is the next best choice for a match to the factory gauges?

looks like the Defi gauge comes with either a black outside dial or chrome - the chrome ringed gauge looks even better:

An inexpensive alternative would be the Stewart Warner gauges. They're not an exact match, but still work okay. Needles are kinda more orange-y than red and the bezel is silver not chrome. Backlighting is white, green or red depending on what condom you put on the bulb.

STRI X-line gauges:
http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/s...5518_5521.html

ProPlus gauges:
http://www.proplus.com.tw/download/big/22.gif

I've personaly seen quite a lot of the STRI gauges fail after some use, 90% of the time the A/F model.
The shop where I used to work stopped selling them because of that and for the last 2 years they have only sold the ProPlus gauges, there have been a few DOA's (I prefer to think they were killed by mistakes during installation) and even fewer warranty claims, it's a cheap Taiwanese manufacturer but to me they have proven themselves, I have had 2 (watertemp+boost) in my FD for about a year now and they still function without flaws.
The backlight is bright red or bright white, I am going to try and get my hands on a broken one to see if I can mix the red and white LEDs inside to make an amber colored gauge.

I have the VDO gauges and they are dead on to the stock gauges. DEFIs are nice if you have the cash but if you need a reliable(porsche uses them) and fairly inexpensive then I recommend the VDO gauges.

they offer a TON so just pick the category you need. I'll try to find pics of my setup

Autometer Z series matches perfectly, not the best gauges on the market but they work great for me.

used Defi D or Greddy with the amber backlight. I think those are the best stock match but still look modern. Some of the others look a little too old/generic for my taste.

first pic I found was temp but the color and style is the same for boost, i think it looks nice, i use that same gauge for water temp and a defi for boost in a column mount.
