Where does this air box port connect?

I wasn’t paying attention when I disassembled the air box. Where does this outlet port on the side connect?

A plastic tube goes on there, which turns down and extends about 8 inches toward the ground. It is open at the ground end.

It is a kind of silencer. The surplus air returns from the ACV into a chamber in the air filter box that is isolated from the rest of the air filter box.

The air then vents through the opening into the silencer.

Replace the missing silencer and you should hear less noise.

Many cars will have the air pump and ACV system removed.

In that case there is no air to return to the air filter box.
