Can someone identify this air box outlet for me?

There is a muffler built into the air box to quiet the hose that dumps the excess air pumped by the air pump. (Note the reports of duck noises for aftermarket intakes, when the air pump is still in place.) That hose is just the outlet for the muffler. It just hangs off the air box, with nothing connected on the other end.

If you vent the ACV dump to atmosphere, plug the enlet and outlet tubes for the built in muffler, and cut out the muffler, you will improve the breathing capacity of the filter.
Look at the space the muffler consumes of the top and how it distorts the air flow around that area before it goes to the turbos.
