Yeah, no kidding. I sure as hell had nothing to prove that day. That is basically what I did with Ihor (running a 6800 rpm redline against a 5.7L V8 pushing 13 psi!) and look how that turned out .

So John, being that you've been running 19 psi on stock twins for 4 years, did you ever get around to getting a dyno sheet or any trap speeds? Way back 4 years ago, I was running the old school BNRs, and consistently clocked 14 seconds flat going from a 40 mph/2nd gear punch up to 140 mph. Let me know if you ever beat that

Oooh- seems like I struck a nerve..... You weren't untuned enough to post that you raced other cars on the forum at about the same time.... Were you magically tuned for those races?? I am not stupid, I researched posts when I knew you were coming just to see if you were able to race. Was someone else posting under your name. or were you fabricating stories?? I don't talk numbers. I never have. On that day I wanted to run and you declined...in person. Behind a keyboard you are really good at posting numbers or making excuses when you lose. Put your money where your mouth is..... Hey, I think I just typed this message in under 14 seconds. BEAT THAT!

John
PS_ I beat my friends cobra that is 540 hp..... I hang with cobra guys occasionally, we hae a mutual respect.

Behind the keyboard huh? From what I remember you are a scrawny, balding little man who started spouting off about racing before barely introducing himself. I didn't like you from the moment I met you---you reminded me of a peacock. I got bad vibes and wanted nothing to do with you. That's not too hard to understand, is it?

From here on out, you can take this conversation to PM, or in person. I'll be real curious about that exchange.

It wasn't too long ago that I was leading combat missions into downtown Baghdad. I'm not going to stand by and let someone treat me with zero respect, that's for damn sure....

Rich

LOL- That’s pretty funny...this is has turned into a real forum pissing match. I'll bite..for now....

Jesus, I really did strike a nerve. I feel...belittled, let me go cry to my wife....LOL I feel so happy that you decided that from here on out we could take this to PM's....oh, or even scarier, in person. Any other decisions you care to make…. Like not to race. And for the record, why would you bad mouth Steve Khan to me and then go to him to tune for free? That seems to be your way, one day a shop is the greatest in the world and the next day they suck.....did you ever think that you may have a character flaw....or maybe it's just that you are seriously immature. What kind of moron would challenge someone to a fight over the Internet. Don't worry big man; you'll get the chance to kick my *** one day.
Grow up

Now back to the point. LETS SEE IF YOU CAN ANSWER THIS SIMPLE QUESTION: Why is it you raced everyone else before that day yet when it was time to race you wouldn't? You said it was a tune, now when called on it it's "you didn't like me." Which is it?.. and why would you be scared to race a Peacock?

Seen it. Already raced one with those mods. Off the juice it was dead even at 18 pounds. On the juice(50 shot) I lost by a car.. he pulled me out of out of the hole... Those cobras sure do make some power. the only thing holding them back is a real fuel system as well as a KB bower or a whipple.

Stop selling yourself and acting like you were grossly offended. Let's face it you ARE the man. Heaven forbid anyone share their differing opinion with the Captain Commando. They'll get personal insults thrown at them immediately. You have to point out that you were in the army. Think about your reaction, like an adult.....it was petty and ridiculous...and I'll have you know that I am GODDAMN HANDSSOME!!! If anyone wants a pic of me just PM me, they are only 5 dollars for a 4x8 glossy.

Both. I don't like you, and I needed a tune.

Time to get out from behind your keyboard, John. When are you going to be in NJ next? I'd love to continue this conversation with you in person, that is if you have the ***** to spout off like this to my face.

If I didn't want to race someone, an excuse wouldn't be necessary. A simple "no thanks" is all that is required. This is really a stupid pissing match. Why don't both of you show some maturity, and stop this ......... NOW!!!

Back to the issue, has anyone had any problems with the BNR's? Rynberg, didn't you have some sort of issue with yours?

Aside from all the **** you've been talking which has me enraged, here is what you've failed to provide to prove this '19 psi on stock twins for four years' claim:

(1) A dynosheet or

(2) A timeslip or

(3) An HT12 compressor map showing how far you are out of their effeciency range at 19 psi or

(4) Even some timed acceleration runs.

Can you provide anything at all? Or are you only capable of street racing?

There have been some problems over the years. Perhaps Bryan will step in to elaborate/amend this, but this is what I understand:

The older BNRs (which arent offered anymore) were rebuilt/upgraded twins with different/better comp and turbine wheels. stock shaft, chra. Bryan had problems with the availability of stock parts, and also he chose to offer a dynamic seal with the goal to aid in spool time for non-seq applications. Oftentimes the unfortunate result was oil smoke out the tailpipe b/c the seals couldnt handle the high oil pressure FDs run. Oil feed restrictors helped, but there were too many problems so he stopped offering them to move onto bigger and better things, the new iteration of the BNRs, found here:

http://www.bnrturbos.com/3rdGen.htm

I'm not aware of any problems with these turbos, they are brand spanking new badboys .

Wow! Whens the fight? Can I buy tickets early? We can do it like the UFC. I'm a huge fan hahah. Stock fuel system is pretty beefy. Twin 190lph pumps, 8 39lb/hr injectors, a feed line about -6 in size, etc. It will handle 500 to the wheels easily, more if you get a fuel pump amplifier such as a Kenne Bell boost-a-pump which is similar to hard wiring the fd fuel pump. Stock blower runs out of steam at 16-17 psi, as do the stock fd twins. The 496 was off the spray and with 4 stock catalyctic converters in place. Gonna pull the blower and throttle body and port both as well as throw a 50 dry shot on top of it.

You can boost a pump it but it's still a returnless fuel system. I have heard of some guys pushing more than 520 but it really limits the potential of this motor. My friend just changed his blower(Ford Racing Whipple Supercharger 140ax) and fuel system and made 625 to the wheels with a very safe tune. He went 10.947 @ 127.65 on a 1.599 60ft. The car is heavy, but it's an animal. Now if he can just stop breaking driveline parts.

A lot of dedicated racers go returnless. Weight reduction is in the works
