You can find them but prepare to pay. I have sold them for $400+ easily because of the rarity. I dont have any at the time however. I honestly don't understand why people like them so much. I had one and swapped it for a metal panel as it got too hot in the car in the summer time and I got tired of the sun beating down on my head. The tint doesn't help much. I never was able to find the optional snap in sun shade Mazda had.

I got mine off of ebay, think there was like three of them for sale at the time. Mine was the cheapest at $330 shipped.

Open your sun roof and then you can remove the plastic panel by detaching it from the two clips and have just glass, or put the plastic in when you feel like it.

I'm ready when you are... If you're game, place an order through my website (www.FDNewbieImports.com), and I'll get the ball rolling. I've known these are rare and thus greatly desired, so I made sure to grab the few I've come across whenever they popped up The only thing is, being that it's glass, shipping won't be pretty...

Thanks,
~Ramy

For me it was just for the rarity factor, plus my car is black so it matches pretty good.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I have a question about the glass moon. Is it the same size as the metal sun roof? I had a glass one installed, but when I ordered a metal one from a forum member, the sunroof is too wide for the FD.

I see two possible reasons:

1) I purchased my car used, so this could have been a custom installed glass moon roof (I have a 93 R1, and I know NONE of them came from the factory with the glass roof, unless maybe custom ordered?)

2) The forum member sent me a sun roof that was not for the FD.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
-Daniel

The r1 never came with sunroof so you most likely have an aftermarket one!

^ What he said, the R1 never had a sun roof. Ether you dont have an R1 or the prior owner had an aftermarket on installed (ruining the value).

I've had two and wouldn't go any other way. I never had any water leaks with mine. I have the interior plastic cover now which I didn't have with my last one. It's a nice piece. I realize this is a seven year old thread but these pieces are still
Pretty hard to find. I have no plans on ever selling mine.
