where to buy viton hoses

im ready to give up and just replace all my hoses. im tired of not having a second turbo. i cant afford to pay a shop to do it and after i looked at it yesterday, i noticecd that it looked pretty straight forward. all i need to know is where i can get the viton hoses at. i searched the topics and didnt get a topic on where i can get it. i did notice that they are overkill, but i stated there that i would rather have extra than not enough. i only plan on doing this once. while im asking, im sure i can search for this one, but how much hose of each will i need, or will whomever i contact know if i say i drive an rx7?
thanks a lot guys.

Kris,

I am going to do the same. I have my relays off (removed yesterday). Maybe we can go together to get a better deal. Let me know. mccreary@cove.net

I believe I know a source, but have to find out. Last I priced, I think it was around $100 for all the hoses.

buy viton hoses here.

Kris,

Here's where you buy viton hoses: http://www.mcmaster.com
*Prices are 15-25% lower when you order the maximum continuous length (last available length listed - 50 ft).

Damn that stuff is expensive! How many feet do we FD owners need to replace all the hoses? and what diameter is best?(i'm to lazy to search)

John

go check out hose techniques kit for sizes and lengths of hose, note with viton, you will only need to use clamps on a couple of fittings. Also, get the 60 durometer.

im kinda debating on the hose techniques now. i really wanted the viton but the hose techniques comes with everything. only 118.00. damn good price too. ill still look around for the viton, but am almost sure that i will go with the hose techniques.

Well, the cost of the viton tubing alone is pretty close to HT's kit. I know that a ton of people have done the hose job with silicone hoses and haven't had problems, but viton is still a superior material. It won't split when nicked like silicone and it is very resistant to oil and gas -- silicone isn't. When I do the hose job (pretty soon, arghhh), I will use viton because I don't want to have to change these hoses ever again. Of course, if you already own a good pair of snips and needle-nose pliers, there's not much point to buying the kit. You can get the hose piece meal from HT or Baker Precision or McMaster's for that matter. If you do that, you could get a little bit of viton tubing for hoses that run in close proximity to the turbos (or the few hoses that are under the solenoid rack). Just a suggestion.

Here's a link for people that don't know anything about Viton tubing:

http://us.share.geocities.com/sdrx7_club/hosedebate.pdf

And what diffrent types of tubing do under stress:

I am ordering 100 ft. of a few diffrent sizes -- maybe we should see if a group buy will bring down the price. Might wanna check out (for the group buy):

Anyone thinking of Viton just make sure the outside wall of the tube is thick. Some of the viton hoses I have seen are really thin and kink easy, and would not be good for installing in an automotive application

The pdf link I gave you in my previous post will take you right to McMaster's Viton tubing.

Here's the California phone# for McMasters
