Where to buy Optima 51R Red top?

So I called the local "Advance Auto Parts" (Terre Haute, IN) looking for said battery... "Sure we have it in... in stock even... $109.95 plus core". After I wet myself from excitement... I go to the store... they have the 75 battery... morons...

So I then call "AutoZone"... "We don't have that battery in stock... but we can order it for you... just come in & pre-pay"... so once again (I should have known better) I run to the store... to find out they too, are morons...

& best yet... neither store even offered me an apology.

So now... WHERE CAN I FIND THIS DAMN BATTERY?!?!? Anybody seen one? I've read Costco has them... but there are no Costco stores nearby. Anybody have a website where I can order one? Or if somebody's local auto parts store carries it, could they buy it (I'll pay with PayPal) & ship it to me?

SOMEBODY HELP!

Optima does not make a 51R Red Top. Their 51R is only available in yellow.

Try checking some motorcycle shops, they sometimes carry small size batteries.

As an alternative, I use the PC680 which I've been happy with.

Make sure you buy the terminals unless you can re-use your old ones.

Optima doesn't make 51R reds? Why not? I was looking for the red because it supposedly does better with heat

I think the red just has more CCA? i dunno i cud be wrong...

why do you need an expensive drycell battery unless ur going to relocate it?

Its not like the battery is exposed to as much temp behind ur seat as it is in the engine bay...unless ur a big guy with some really hot steamy farts

I recently got one. I only found one place that had it in stock. http://www.batteriesareus.com/ and they listed it as a Miata battery. It's $135 shipped and that's a fair price.

Oops: That's the Yellow top D51R. There's no red top in the D51 size.

I've got the Optima 51R yellow top from Pep Boys - they usually stock it, actually. If you have a Pep Boys near you, I'd hit them up.

You can order batteries online, but the shipping's the killer. Buying it locally you usually get it cheaper or break even.

From what I've heard (manager from Advance Auto Parts called Optima) and also everywhere online it says that it's on back order. I've been waiting for it for a few months. They said late January/sometime February Optima should be cought up.
