where to buy cheap spark plugs

where does everyone get NGK plugs for cheap for their FDs? I've been paying around $30 for a set of 2 leading 7s and 2 trailing 9s. any better prices ordering from somewhere.

i've fouled my plugs after 1.5k miles the last 2 sets, on my 3rd at the moment and its getting preeety expensive.

I don't foul out race plugs that quickly. You're running too rich. When was the last time your plug wires were changed?

Plugs

www.sparkplugs.com

Tonight I picked up (8x BUR9EQP) and (4x BR10EIX).

The prices seem to be pretty reasonable. From what I have read tonight through a search:

If you are at stock boost: 7's all around
If you are around 300hp: 7's and 9's
Higher Boost: 9's or higher.

Good luck!

I just put in a new set OEM wires I ordered from Ray the past few days. Hopefully it will help, I also verified that the existing coils are within spec while I had everything taken apart

my car has a few problems which are probably contributing to the quick fouling: slowly leaking coolant seals, and a mystery exhaust leak i can't seem to find. daaamn fds

Advance Auto has great prices on NGK plugs. I just run 4 BUR9EQ all around. No real need for platinum IMO. (I run full bolt on's with stock twins)

Hrrmmm... you sure?

I would recommend 7's and 9's for stock to lightly modded, and 9's all around for the 300whp-350whp crew.

agreed. Then race plugs (10+) in the leading for the 400+ crew. A lot of it is boost dependant as well. 350 to 400 is kind of a grey area, each FD behaves differently and some will require race plugs while some will be ok with 9s.

running all 7s isn't a good idea. That's not recommended by mazda as far as I know.....factory plugs are 7 leading and 9 trailing.

Actually the last time I bought plugs I went with the platinums. The clerk quoted me only about a $1 @ plug more for them.

Yeah, just fix your problem so you won't foul out your plugs.

yeah, Advance has great prices on the BUR9EQ ($5.95 a plug) if you are fouling plugs

you can also pick up a mini spark plug sand blaster from Harbor Freight that mounts to a work bench for about $17 and does a great job of restoring fouled plugs

You can get some great prices on stock parts at www.rockauto.com. They sell the plugs for 6.06 and 7.20 for the Ps. However they sell them in packs of 10 for some stupid reason. I use them for parts for most of my "normal" cars though.
