When should i know when to change my spark plugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, i was wondering what indications i will get when its time for my fd's spark plugs to be changed. I bought my car with a rebulit motor back in june2001, and i havent looked at the spark plugs. The car runs awesome and i have had no stalling problems whats so ever. But i do sometimes on cold starts notice that when i'am in first gear, that my idle goes back and fourth back and fouth, what is that doing, and what are the signs that well indicate that the spark plugs need to be changed.

The stock plugs usually last about 15,000 miles. I change mine every 10,000 miles. Make sure to change your fuel filter around 15,000 miles too. As for oil changes, every 1500 miles and check it every 500 miles.

NGKs - platinums.
NGKBUR7EQP -leading
NGKBUR9EQP - trailing

unless you are modded and want to go 9EQPs all the way around

I just bought some Densos for my spark plug testing that I put on my web site. I must say that I am not impressed with their performance so far. I have noticed that my idle has gotten poor since I put them in and below 3K rpm there seems to be a slight miss particularly before things get warmed up. For over $30 a plug I suggest you think twice about Denso Iridiums.

As for when to change plugs it depends on various factors like your driving style and mods. However there is one easy way to find out if they need replaced. Pull one out and use your eyes. It only takes about 5 minutes. However if you don't want to do this fouled plugs will cause a lumpy idle along with a loss in power. The loss in power isn't noticeable though because it's gradual. Put your car on a dyno with fouled plugs and you will see it though. I suggest changing your plugs every 5K to 15K miles. I change mine every 6K.

So you'd suggest NGK's instead huh? Or Bosch?

I purchased Denso's for my TII-First time I installed a plug other than the NGK's, changed every 7-8,000 miles, since the car was new. With new Denso's-at 800 miles the trailing #1 stopped firing. Put Ngk's in, everthing OK! Wouldn't use anything else but NGK's!!

Visit my site and you will see that Bosch isn't an option. I have searched high and low for options other than NGK and have heard of everything from generic plugs being used that aren't made for the 7 (not recommended) to custom made jobs that never came to be. For the price and quality you can't beat NGK. I'll keep looking though.
