when rebuilding?
should you replace the oil pump? whats the likely hood of a used one going out? I plan to rebuild another rotary soon and this time im thinking about using everything new that may need too.. besides irons and eshaft.. im looking at even replacing the rotors.. but the oil pump is it even worth while to do while your there or kinda one of those parts that prob wont fail anytime soon?
Also the rotor housings forgive me if im wrong but arnt the 2nd gen non turbo rotor housings the same as the fd's? if it wasnt what one was the same i know there was one thats interchangeable etc..

The oil pump drive chain is a wear item that many people replace. It's cheap too.
The FC NA rotor housings are very similar. 86-91 NA will work*** with the exception of the exhaust port sleeves/diffusers. You should replace them with your FD port sleeves. This involves removal of roll pins that hold them in. You may want a shop to do the job for you.
*** The 86-88 rotor housings have a slightly inferior coating quality and I would use 89-91 NA housings. I'm using S5 NA (89-91) housings in my FD. I got a pair of brand new S5 NA housings for $700 shipped, so it was well worth the conversion for me.
I've heard the ignition timing (spark plug placement) is slightly different on NA FC housings, but a good number of people use them and I've heard of no problems as a result.
