What is your boost running at? Stock ECU w/ midpipe equals boost spikes. You should not feel fuel cut until around 8000rpm or so. Shift at 7-7.5k for the best power. I have also been trying to figure out the launching. So far, I just rev up to about 2800 and slowly slip the clutch until I quit wheel hoppin' and then mash it.

You get fuel cut at 6krpm? I dont think that is normal (but i may be wrong). I usally take it to about 8k on every gear. However if im already walking them by a large margin then ill just shut it down and not go any higher in that gear.

You may want to ask around about that 6k fuel cut.

I rev it to 8k in 1st, and 7k in everyone after that......although I think on the stock hp curve....it peaks off at 6500......correct me if I'm wrong

I usually shift at 7200, but sometimes 1st goes by pretty quick and I'll redline 1st by accident..

the stock ECU cuts fuel at 11.5-12 PSI. look at his setup...full exhaust stock ECU, and im assuming he has no means of controlling boost. it is only a matter of time that one more is chalked up for "unreliable" regarding the FD.

Amen. Please...get an ECU SOON! Of course you'll hit fuel cut...you're lucky it's only fuel cut...you can hit detonation which is far worse

ok, i feel fuel cut when my revs are at like 6000rpm, is it good to red line every gear when racing?? oh yeah when launching should you take the revs to like 3000rpm and drop the clutch?? I have a stock ecu with a down pipe midpipe and an exhaust with 2.5 inch thick pipe from the muffler to the midpipe, i dont know if that after market
Stop going WOT (flooring it) until you upgrade your ecu, or you will blow your motor sky high. It's just a matter of time; trust me. Even better, put your stock main cat back on or buy a high flow cat.

YES, put in your stock cat and get a PFS or SOMETHING, I have intake, downpipe, midpipe, cat back and HKS F-Con, HKS FCD and still have boost spike problem that I need to take care of.
When I do go racing I usually shift when I hear the beep or somewhere around 7k. When I need to launch the car I usually rev the car to 2.5k to 3k then drop the clutch, just makes things easier, faster and save your clutch too.

Good god man, get an ECU! Now!

BTW, with a stock car, there is no reason to shift at redline after 1st gear. You will accelerate faster shifting at 7-7.5k. With mods however, that could change entirely.

higher boost + No additional fuel = blown engine...

...and I shift at 8000 in 1st Gear and then 7500 after that.

...I normally launch at 3800-4000 rpm's and get NO WHEEL HOP(Thanks K2RD!), with only slight amounts of wheel spin.

the line at the end of the tach is red for a reason it means STAY THE F*CK OUT OF IT unless your upgraded enough. stock fd can not make up for the fuel delivery air supply wich you should have with a mid pipe
