When its hot out engine idles too low and sometime stops engine. If I have the AC on its almost every time I come out of gear.
Its very strange not sure why the outside weather plays a role in when this happens. Althrough I'm leaning towards a vaccum leak since when engine is hot it gets worse. Maybe the hole expands with heats.
I have a Apex air fuel controler. Haven't figured it out yet. Came with the car. Can that be the cause or possible resolve it.
Another thing is I noticed the rpm's go up and down sometimes by 800 rpms when idling below 2000 rpms.
I don't know could be multiple things. PFS is nearest trusted mechanic and I'd rather not have to drive an hour.
Is there some way I can just adjust the idle rpms with the fuel controller or otherwise?
Thanks
Seb

Like you said it could be many things...
First question comes in mind; Do you still have the airpump and the ACV valve?
The airpump does introduce air into the exhaust manifold through the ACV valve. This airstream is expected by the O2 sensor. If not present the the ECU sees it as having an incorrect Air/Fuel mixture and changes it, messing up the idle. The additional load the AC presents on the system, combined with the temperature factors could well cause your problem.

I have something that sounds similar. When I'm driving and put the clutch in while turning off onto another road my car occaisonally shuts off...moreso with the ac on. I recently sent my local specialist (Dave @ KDR) an email...this is what he said.
one is the dashpot located on the front side of throttle body..it catches the throttle when closing and brings it down slowly...so it doesnt stall..if this has failed it will stall with all loads....also base idle adjustment may be too low...or you have a failing ISC valve(idle speed control valve)
I'm gonna be taking my car out to him this week so he can look at it...i'll let you know what happens.

This may be coincidence but i just cured a similar problem with changing a faulty clutch switch, Its located in the foot well behine the clutch pedal, i got a replacement for mine from one of our scrap MX5's, Works a treat.

Is there any tricks I can do myself till I get it to a mechanic. Like raising the idle point?
Anyone have any experience with the Apexi Air/Fuel Controller? Can I adjust the idle with that?
my BOF is HKS SSQ.

Hey I took my car to Dave @ KDR...turns out all he had to do for that problem was raise the idle point. With so much load on the car (ac, power steering, lights, etc...) the idle was set to low. So maybe increasing the idle speed will help your problem as well.
