What's Wrong With My Clutch???
i stopped at a light and had the car in first gear for a couple of seconds and all of a sudden it started to lurch forward and the idle was lowering down. i pulled it out of first and put in in neutral and the idle went back up. i know the idle went down due to the load, the problem is if i put it in first and start letting the clutch out then in then out again it grabs about a half inch from the floor.there seems to be no play at all in the clutch. after i do that i just put it in neutral again and it it rises back to normal after i let it out. it seems like it's getting stuck down for lack of better reasoning. this came under regular driving conditions!!
the clutch has maybe 3000 miles on it and it has not been abused at all. no drag launches or anything like that, just regular to a little aggresive launches.
the clutch is an rps
thanks,mike

Bleed your clutch system. There may be air in your lines. Also check for leaks in the hydraulic lines. My friend had the same problem and found that the clutch line had a leak in it.

is the clutch fluid fed by the master cylinder?? if so i see my problem. it seems the rubber hose just after the metal line behind the engine on the firewall has a small leak.
is this a pain in the *** to change? has anybody done it so they can give me some hints.
thanks,mike

Also could be your slave or master cylinder failing - my slave was doing the same thing before I replaced it. If you have a leak in your hydraulic system you can probably tell by your resevoir level. Bleeding will probably not help since you have been running for a few K miles since the system was open to air unless your fluid level is low (showing you have a leak somewhere).
Oh and once you get this problem straightened out I expect you to work on those aggressive launches - your car may fall into a coma if you dont let it out to play every now and then!

The line from master to the slave is not hard, you will have to bleed the clutch system.
