Does anybody have a mod list or any idea what Adam Saruwatari is running under the hood?

That thing looks tiny compared to the turbo I saw this weekend on Abels car.

 

That would be cool if he were a member on this forum. If anyone gets the chance to speak with him, they should ask him to visit.

 

He's a little busy to come on here and chat. I'll see if my girl can call him and ask why He's her cousin.....how funny is that!? You can imagine what i thought when i first found out! "Ask him to build our car".....oh wait......he already did the motor

I think a better question would be does anyone know why he hasnt been racing with either of his cars in a long time?

 

he could have changed things since I last talked to him...I was in the mags sometime ago..look for older issue of turbo.

He's busy with the NSX and all... Good guy to chat with actually...went to Cal Poly with him..but didn't meet until after @ some import drag event, him being some sort of AG major...and me be engineering.. I guess we didn't cross paths too much.

 

I met him at the IDRC event early this year in Palmdale. His mom told me that they will be focusing on the California events (although that doesn't mean that he will not be racing outside of California...it is just their focus).

His RX-7 is pretty much retired. They still fire her up once in a blue moon, but their concentration right now is on the NSX and the Civic.

Currently the RX-7 sports a Mazdaspeed front end (along w/ the Mazdaspeed spoiler) as opposed to the Knightsports front. The car is beautiful to see in person. I have some pics in my computer at home.

 

Adam's car is so imaculate, its almost untouchable.... he was a major influcnece on myself and the import scene, even though his FD's not the fastest anymore, he set the standard for all imports in the show and drag curcit. I've only gotten to meet him a few times, but I doubt he'll ever remember me, but one of my highlights in my life was when he was a judge at the import showoff at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and I won for best paint of show. My car was only a few feet away from his and it almost brought a tear to my eye. I know I sound like a 13 year old, but I have to give props to the oldskool.

 

Surwatari has the NSX and from what I hear he's not doing too well. The sponsor might drop him from the car, apparently it's a 6 second car but it hasn't been driven to it's full potential yet. Jeff at Rotary Power said that if the NSX thing doesn't workout he'll probably come back to the RX-7

 

I agree. Adam helped set a standard in the import scene. He is one of the most recognizable faces in the industry.

 

NSX not doing well? I don't know about you but mid 7's isn't that bad right now in the pro class. Someone dropping Adam?? Don't think so! I'd say he would change his mind before the sponsor would. His team is the most professional and dedicated team in import racing!!!

He's fine tuning right now and will come back stronger than ever unless he decides to retire and work the farm. Then he'll just race whenever he gets a break.....which isn't hard to do when you have a drag strip so damn close to you

The port is large
2mm stock apex seals
Fastrax turbo (John's special blend)
Skyline intercooler core
twin hks bov's
don't really know the fuel system other than additional injectors
had the PMS EMS....don't know now

I haven't seen the car in a long time. It's probably changed alot since then.

Ya know, just like alot of people who run 9's...... there mods are kept pretty hush-hush, so your not gonna find out much. But what we can tell you is that is was dayum fast !!
