Seriously save your money. Once you start to spend you can't stop or you just need to spend more money to get it perfect. Its fun modding the 7 but fu*k, it kicks you in the *** later. This is because i spend all my money on my car, i just dont have any to be spending.

I just got an FD about 4 months ago, and dropped 2k so far in pursuit of the perfect 7. It all depends on what you want out of your 7.

Since I bought the car about 2.5 years ago Ive spent almost 8k on it.

But the car had roughly 10k in receipts when I bought it and another 10k in undocumented mods.

2004 - $10.5K 94 MB PEP
2005 - $2.5K CCWs & Tires
2006 - $3.7K Apexi intakes, Greddy SMIC, R1 strut bar, AST, HKS DP, RB DT, Defi gauges, Apexi PFC, Tune session, H&R, Bilstein shock/strut.

Still have $1.3K left for 2006; alum radiator & ACT/Flywheel replacement.

Total: $18K...not bad at all. Would have put that much down for a new C6 with 800/mth payment.

What matter the most is I like the end result...life is too short.

Enjoy while can.

I almost lost my thumb to the FD today (fabricating parts).

That would have been pretty expensive.

You haven't had anything break yet. You haven't spend real money til things start breaking.

I know...I spent close to $40K into my 1994 Cobra.

A budget has been set aside in case the 7 need some sort of major repair. It's a toy, hardly see 1000 miles per year. Not because I don't drive it, just not having enough time.

94 R2 nearly mint condition w/63k miles = $19,000
$8,000 in receipts when bought

now coming up to around the $20k mark since I have owned it since 01'..and still need more, more, more .... once you start its hard to stop making it your perfect car but its all for the love of this car..not everyone can appreciate that....
