What's in the Mazda Service Highlights Manual?

Seen a few of these for sale, but never in hand. I was told this book is best source for understanding the function of the stock turbo system - is it any different than the FSM?

What else does it cover that's not in the FSM?

I'd like to hear the answer to the question too . From what I understand, it's kind of a highlight of typical procedures and outlines the theories of how some of the systems on the car work. The shop manual is much more component-driven - how to test a component, how to remove it, but not necessarily why it's there or what it does.

I could be horribly wrong, though .

That's how I would describe it. Focus is on the "systems" rather how to R & R a particular part or component. It is standard size (about 8.5 X 11) and has full-page schematics and diagrams that explain how the various systems and the individual components function.
CONTENTS: Engine, Lubrication, Cooling, Fuel and Emissions, Electrical, Clutch, MT, AT, Prop. Shaft, F & R axles, Steering, Braking (ABS), Wheels and Tires, Suspension, Body, Body Electrical, Heating/AC.

Does it add discussion to explain the diagrams, or is it just a re-hash of the diagrams in the FSM without all the stuff in between?

I'm reluctant to answer this. I'm not as experienced as most here and haven't gotten completely through the FSM yet, having concentrated only on those things that I've had to fix on my car. I've used it to understand how some things function, but now looking closer at both the FSM and SHM, much of it is redundant , you just don't have to squint to read or follow the diagrams in the SHM.
I think the "Service Highlights Manual" compliments the FSM about as much as the Electrical Troubleshooting manual does. LOL, guess MAZDA wrote it for the ignorant mechanic, in the dealership and beyond. I had the opportunity to pick one up cheap and since I'm still on a steep learning curve, I bought it. You probably wouldn't find it all that helpful. Also probably why I haven't seen them on CD.
