what's it like to hit the rev limiter?

I was just curious about what was going on when the car hit it's rev limit. Is fuel cut or what? I've got a PFC and I've toyed around with the idea of setting the rev limiter to like 3500 when taking it to the shop or whatever. But, I've never set it there myself and experienced what happens when you hit it. What does it feel like, if anything?

Yeah yeah I know, just try it. I will.

It feels like you running into a brick wall hard.

Imagine someone tying a rope around your neck and following you, then yanking on it. It feels sort of like that, but that actually hasnt happened to me, but that is how I can describe it.

that's basically how it feels. once you hit that point you'll definately take your foot off the pedal. imagine staying in first gear and with short quick bursts slam the pedal and let go slam and let go slam and let go. feels kinda like when first learning to drive a manual tranny

7500RPM is when the warning buzzer goes off. I believe the rev limiter is set at about 8300RPM. No real point in going that high on a stock ported motor.

Power FC doesn't cut fuel. That would be bad cause you could detonate. I'm pretty use its an ignition retard. According to KDR it isn't really bad for the motor either.
