So i'm talking to this local FD owner online and he is claiming that his 93 touring has 225,000 miles on the original motor. I'm calling bullshit. What kind of high milage original motor FDs have you seen?

I wouldn't say BS...if the person drove it conservatively, never beat on it and rarely got into the boost, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to last that long.

Mine had 140k on the odo before the first engine went, but it was owned by an old couple before I had it...they never boosted it. I, on the other hand, did...a lot...and that's when it failed.

I call BS too. Top piece of the apex seals would have fallen out of the rotor groove by then. My Fd lasted 108k till I over boosted and blew the engine. The rear rotor lost all three apex seals which basically means there was zero rear rotor compression, yet the engine still had enough compression to be started and driven 10 miles back home. .

Hrm, i saw an Turbo II FC with 189k miles on it still running strong with good compression, then my FD only has 78k on it and its about to go.

Funny thing is, of course, when i bought the car the guy claimed hed babied it, its whole life, but just by his basic modifications you could tell that was a load of crap. GReddy Airnix Intake, 3" Downpipe, GReddy Turbo Timer and Koni Adjustable's in all four corners. When i took the bumper apart after a minor accident i found a Radar Detector hardwired into the car which he failed to mention as being there. But since i had intended to swap out the engine anyway, i bought the car as it was. Drives great, though it burns through oil like crazy. Even with a light pedal itll burn off 4 quarts of oil in a month :P
