Whats the deal on this wing?

http://www.turborx7.com/images/efini/99poster6.jpg

When did they start offering it? Ive got one on mine, but Ive never seen another 7 in person with it. Ive heard people refer to it as the 96 spec, did they only offer it in 96? One of the reasons Im asking, is cause Im not sure of the year of my car. I know thats retarded, but when your title is in japanese, its kinda hard. I bought it under the assumption that its a 93, but I really dont know. Does anyone know if this wing will bolt on to a hatch from 93-95, using the same holes as the 93-95 wing? Are there any other noticable changes from 93-95 to the later models, excluding 99+?

Series 7 FD's 96-98 had that wing. Isn't there any thing on the door jam or under hood that has date on it? How about the JDM VIN?
If it's a JDM car it could be as early as a 92. Series 6 FD's had the old style R1/R2 wing or are wingless and don't have the circular tail lights. The older ones also had a more complicated rats nest and an 8 bit ecu and different wheels.

So, S7's had circular taillights? I always thought that was a 99+ feature. Is there a way to tell by looking at the ECU whether its an 8 bit or... 16 or whatever the later ones are? And trust me, Ive scoured this car looking for a date, and cant find anything that makes sense. As far as I can tell, its just a japanese version of an R1, dual oil coolers, no sunroof, strut tower bars, suede seats. Itd be cool if it was an S7, but I doubt it. Thanks for your help.

Hmm, yeah the round tails are from 96+ The spoiler is yes 96-98 I have that spoiler on my car also but mine came without one at all. The 92-95 spoilers holes are in a different spot also. The plugs on the ecu are different for the 16-Bit if you can look at it that will be a dead giveaway.

Cool, well Ive got normal 92-95 tails, so that pretty much tells me its a 93 with a 96+ hatch. Cool guys, thanks a lot.

Tanjo,

Why dont you just learn Japanese, or ask one of your local friends to translate for you.. at the least the numbering system is really easy to learn and remember.
