Question Whats the deal with pills?

I have no idea what a pill is and how it works and where it is located on my car. Don't flame me for not knowing this because I do almost all work myself and I really want a Mid pipe. Seeing as how all precautions are taken with this purchase I am afraid of boost creep. I heard a pill is a really inexpensive way to controll this so I just need some info please. I have a profec b but I have been told this will not controll over boosting seeing as the wastegate can only let out so much air at one time. I know about the porting of a wastegate but before I get into that I wanted to know if the pill thing would work!!

Thank you

p.s. I want to stay at stock boost levels and on race day 12 psi max!!!

The pill provides a restriction in the line that controld\s the wastegate actautor.

A differnt pill wont elminate boost creep. the only way to get rid of that is either with a more restrictive exhaust (restriction plate, or hi flow cat) or porting the wastegate. If you have an eletronic boost controller (ie profec b) then your pill should hav already been removed, becasue the part of the EBC that goes into your wastegate actautor line (I don't know what its called) does the work of the pill.

Bottom line. if you want no boost creep. You can either port your wastgate and get a midpipe ( I think I've reqad of people still getting creep with a ported wastegate); get a restriction plate that sits in your exhaust; or get a hi-flow cat.

Sorry homez.

FYI.. porting your wastegate means the turbos have to come out.

If the fuel system is able to keep up with the added boost, is boost creep really a problem?

no, but it is annoying, the one fix for boost creep is to run higher boostr, thus having to waste much less. that is how I combat it. Boost creep is usally fo rpeople with all the bolt on mods trying to run low boost becasue they don;t have computer, etc. it is probelm as far as nto being able to dial exaclty how much boost you want.boost sipkes are real problem as there is not enough time for computer to add more fuel, it just spkieks instantly and blows your engine.
