what's the best way to take out the stationary gear w/ engine in the car?

The FSM doesn't really help and I don't want to damage anything. I have a slight oil leak and its coming from that area. I'm in the process of doing an auto to manual swap but I figured since everything is out I might as well fix it now before it gets any worse. Both the o ring and rear main seal will be replaced. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

loosen up the bolts and pull the stationary gear with the rear main seal in place, the seal will help keep the eshaft centered. Once the gear is out you can change the oring and the rear main seal. While the gear is out, try not to move the eshaft. Grease/oil up the oring and seal and put everthing back in. It's pretty straight forward and you shouldn't have any issues.

I pulled the plugs and made sure the front rotor had a face to the plug holes. I also loosened the belts to make sure the e-shaft did not turn.

When I remove the stationary gear, do I just use something like a pry bar to separate it from the rear cover?

and why would I have to make sure a face is facing the plugs on the front rotor? I'm sure nothing will move the e-shaft while the gear is out...

hard as in not requiring a lot of force, or overall difficulty? haha.

it just feels stuck, and i don't want to damage anything if i use something to pry it out.

It has extremely low tollerances between the bearing and the E-shaft, it should come out easy, as long as you are pulling straight out, if your prying from one side more than the other it might bind up.

Too make sure it is at TDC. When the front rotor is at TDC, the rear rotor has an apex straight down and should not drop off of the e-shaft when the stationary gear is removed.

Make sure and leave 1 bolt in the stationary gear housing. This will ensure that it comes out straight. I believe I used a flat head screw driver to work the it out slowly, it did require a little bit of force and made a popping noise when it came out for me.

Does anyone happen to have pictures of this? I am replacing my clutch with the ACT this weekend and figured its probably a good idea to get the rear main and O ring...Does anyone have part numbers for these? I'd like to order them today...

Thanks in advance.

Do the FD's have what is considered a stepped flywheel? I am under the understanding that these are a little more complicated to have re surfaced... or maybe just more set up time so they cost a bit more?
