Whats the best strut bar?

Cusco by far. just look how thick the welds, bars, and brackets are. while there is no tests or anything that show one bar is stronger than the other, one way to see how strong a bar is just to grab it and shake it. its probably not too good for the cars suspention, but grab an installed Cusco STB and you could shake the entire car without feeling any flex whatsoever. do the same with a cheap/thin bar (GAB, Ractive, etc.) and you could actually feel the bar flex a little.

the exact same design as the Cusco front and rear STBs.

Get a $5.00 dollar job off ebay and call it good. Seriously, I like the stock R1.

get a cusco. i have one and an r1 and though i can't tell a difference when driving the cusco bar is definitely more heavy duty.

The stock R1 brace has a few advantages over the Cusco.
1. R1 brace is steel, steel is 3 TIMES stiffer than aluminum. Cusco's bar doesn't have any more x-sectional area over the R1 brace.
2. The R1 brace is adjustable for length, allowing a pre-load to be set (listed in Service manual).
3. The R1 brace has a heim joint in it, this was eliminated for 94+95. Same goes for the rear bar.
The Cusco brace does not appear to be any stronger than the R1 brace and in my opinion I think the R1 brace is stronger. Welds in aluminum always look bigger than in steel. Don't believe me, just take a look at the welds on any aftermarket ICs, there huge.
Strut bars are loaded in tension (long skinny bar would never work in compression anyway). I'm sure the Cusco will work fine and it is much cheaper. I bet 9 out of 10 drivers couldn't tell the difference if either one was bolted to their car. I mean sort of a blind study, you walk up to the car with the hood closed and drive it and guess.
