what would you buy with 11,000

Excluding any apperance mods; what would you do with 11,000 to your FD? say you could do it over again...

I was thinking:

Engine rebuild (street/race port)-4000
Single turbo-3500 ($?)
fuel system-700 ($?)
stand alone -1000
radiator-450
FMIC-1000

anything else im missing...?
OR I think a better idea is to hold off on the single turbo& FMIC until i get more money (13) and then do that, tuning, and some suspension mods and a clutch...

If i got that done to start out with...Couple months later Ill have another 2,000 or so for it...what else would I need to do?

(Im expecting to get flamed about this)

OK, at least do brakes, if nothing else. With more power, you need more stopping power.

Since you wrote radiator... that means you need one.

Hold off on the others and spend the $10,500 left on a good reliable beater

a damn 5spd conversion. yeah yeah, i know, shouldn't have bought an auto fd, shouldn't have bought an auto if i really wanted a 5spd. however, deal at the time was too good to pass up. but now i'm sorta wanting to buy another rx7 (manual) and sell my car. *sigh*

10.5k is alot of money to be calling a car a "beater"

Are you doing all the labor yourself, are you doing the tuning yourself, if not, you are going to need a lot more $$$$

and I can do alot of the labor my self, but not the tuning, so Im thinking of holding off and get more money when the time comes to accully get the car...

and about the beater car: I have a 97 tahoe I can drive when the weather is bad or want to keep miles off a car.

If you're planning on doing most of the labor yourself, I'd suggest holding off on all those cool-sounding mods like a single turbo, fuel system, FMIC, etc. and just do reliability mods first, so that you can spend some time getting to know the car well before you suddenly start tearing it apart in your haste to get big hp. Otherwise, you'll encounter myriad problems that will not only cost you time and $$, but whoever will be tuning your car as well.

Otherwise, I'd suggest saving up a lot more money to pay a reputable shop with mechanics that hopefully know what they're doing to do all the work for you. That way, it'll be easier for you to get questions answered when something goes wrong (you can ask them first, since they put it together), and it will be just a plug'n'play deal.

If I had $11,000 to burn I would pay off my debts. No way would I sink it into my car. When it comes to putting money into my car, I restrict myself at a few hundred dollars at a time.

I'd spend $2000 on my car and $9000 on a Etrade account.
