i am sure everyone knows the PFC is being discontinued, i was wondering if anyone knows of anything on the horizon that will replace this part? so far i have seen nothing that even comes close to this. there has got to be something...

Nope, DaiOni listed the models being stopped and the current FD3S unit was not one of them.

IMHO, I think there was a big ruckus about it, but they were discontinuing the *OLD* PFC's. The FD had 2 versions made for it - the old one and the new one. The old ones had replaceable ROM chips that aftermarket tuners would mess with and companies like AP Engineering would modify to add features like anti-lag.

In other words, I wouldn't sweat it until we actually start seeing supply dropping off or hear something concrete, like ALL PowerFC's are being discontinued. I think the announcement set off a lot of Chicken Little responses - calm down .

That's nice to know should I need a replacement.

Earlier threads on this had lead me to believe the the Power FC for the FD was being discontinued.

As for it being a big seller for the FD as stated in another post - that doesn't seem too likely, but I guess it's possible. I don't know what total production numbers on FD's are, but they can only be a fraction of the tuner Honda/Subaru/etc market.

 

My friend works for Apexi in CA. I talked to him in person, and the PowerFC for FD's are NOT being discontinued and was a big rumor. SOME very select models of the PFC are being discontinued like someone said above, but he assured me that They have no plans whatsoever to end production for the FD.

 

The Power FC for the FD is their biggest seller.
