Only speculation since I'm not familiar with JDM engines or JDM harnesses but that looks like an ignition igniter.

It's not the igniton amp/igniter chip.

Pretty sure it's the fuel pump resistor, although mine looks slightly different to that.

ok still dont know exactly what it is, but on the good hand we figured out that a sliced wire which connects to the leading coil is why it wouldnt start, starts fine now, but when i hold the pedal at we'll say 2500rpms, is smooth then sounds like its cutting fuel for a second, then smooth, then stutter, and just repeats its self. now im new to the rx7, ive owned it for a year and got it with an uncomplete motor. droped a jdm motor in, so im hearing it run for the first time.

it is the fuel pump resistor, its located under the brake booster in the FD, and it connects to the body harness

youll want to make a jumper wire and bypass the 2pin plug that goes to the fuel pump resistor. Jumping this wire will allow the high/low speed fuel pump to constantly be high for your 2jz swap. Did it on mine and it works great.
