So i bought a set of turbos under the impression they were for my 93. Well they are definately rx7 twins, but they arent exactly like my old ones. The cold sides are much larger then the old ones and the y pipe doesnt line up at all with these new turbos. If anyone knows let me know, if not ill have pics up soon. They are still hitachi brand but just different.

They are stamped Hitachi. Ive been trying to find pics of 99 spec's and they seem very similar to those. The only difference i see between the new ones and my stock ones are that the cold sides are much larger and have a raised center ring to hold everything in place. And also the angles of everything seems to be slightly different.

I can't really tell, so I won't give a finite answer. SLOASFK is viewing, he might have a better observation than me.

IIRC 6 fins on the compressor = 13B-RE Cosmo twins, and from what I've heard, they aren't a feasable replacement for FD twins...

i paid 200 + 40 shipping. Hopefully the seller will refund money and cover shipping back so we are both just down shipping and noone is screwed. I dont think he knew they were cosmo turbos but he sold me them as stock fd twins so hes gotta make this right.

The manifold doesn't look any different than the FD manifold. Would it be possible to swap out the compressor housings? Are the turbos still HT-12's?

thats weird.....your setup looks to have 4 stud on the manifold to connect the downpipe. I have a set as well and mine only has 3. I was pretty sure that all came with only 3 but i could be wrong.

but those compressors looks definately like the cosmos and they seem to be smaller.

I can go take side by side comparison pictures of the FD turbos and the cosmos ones for anyone whos interested with my new christmas camera :-)

if he refuses to refund the money, notify your credit card company or your bank and tell them to refuse the payment. having the ad or the page you bought it from will help alot! save emails or messages that will help you plead your case to the the bank. i have done this 4 times in the past year cause i was in the same situation. plus you will end up with free turbos if it works out for ya...

if you have any more questions on how this works you can pm me. my mother has been in banking for 18 years and i know all bout this ****. best-a-luck

no the guy was really cool. we decided to each eat one way of the shipping and hes refunding my money. So a little loss for each but completely fair. Im not upset at all for the guy thought they were for the stock fd as well.

Believe it or not those actually look like FD turbo's to me that were clocked wrong. IIRC the Cosmo turbos have 3 studs on the downpipe. Let me see what I can dig up, I think I have pics of both sets side by side. You just may need to adjust the housings.... gimme a cuppa two tree minutes
