I bought these from Shane Smith at Rotaryworks. He told me they were the 280 hp turbos, but they are not. They do not have the abraidable seal, but they do have the gold wastegates. The serial numbers are:

Primary: 8Z11
Secondary: 8Z16 N6C1A

Can anyone tell me what I've got?

Do a search on J-spec turbos. I remember reading a thread on these recently. There were pics. and serial #'s posted on it. I was interested in a set of the 280 hp turbos but did not want to pay $1500 + for a used set.

All late model Mazda turbos have the gold-colored actuators. If they don't have the abraidable seals, you got ripped off -- well, that depends on EXACTLY what they said you were buying...

 

I'll try to pull my Spirit R turbos off the shelf and provide the p/n on the housing. Probably late on Monday or Tuesday AM.
