????

So did you install the factory single turbo from a Turbo II on your FD or an aftermarket single turbo? If it's a factory turbo, you just lost quite a bit of power, and if it's aftermarket, you will have to be careful as it may flow more than the stock twins.

Mounting a completely unknown turbo may NOT have been the smartest thing you could do....

the fc3s might be less powerfull in standard trim but i assumed that the fc has smaller injectors smaller inlets, exausts ports havier rotors, slower engine management. less coils, drivetrain loss etc

so i m only assuming that with my mods it should spool faster and keep high rev high boost pattern

by the way i didnt mention my other mods
street ported and exaust ported
3mm seals

what do you think????????

I think it was about time you remembered you had the Caps Lock key on...

As far as your turbo, you should probably be asking this in the 2nd gen. forum, since the HT18S-2S is the stock turbo for the Turbo II as far as I know.

It's a stock Turbo II turbo. That means it will make around 200 hp on your car, compared to 255 with the stock twins.

reading a recent boost-up special in a japanese magazine, they seemed to be able to get 350-ish hp out of one of these turbos (I'm at work, so I don't have the exact numbers).

You do appear to have the mods to push it quite a bit

but yeah, wouldn't have done that myself...

On my friends Toyota Supra his secondary turbo is high flowed not the primary i think. Because he said he is only boosting the secondary to 16psi and primary to 10psi using a manual boost controller. Is this possible to do on an FD? I think he trying to keep the fast spooling primary to stay and have more grunt with the secondary when it kicks in. Oh yeh, he's still using sequential.

Sure is. Except you will need two manual boost controllers for it.

Okay, the article was in the january 04 issue of option magazine. Basically, it was an article where they took the ej20 (wrx), 4g63 (evo), 13brew, 13bt, 3sgte (celica/mr2), rb25det (skyline), rb20det (skyline), sr20det (s14)/sr20det (s15) - all relatively low capacity turbo'd engines - and threw mods at them until they got a reliable 350hp.

Now, the bad news: the first thing they did was toss out the stock turbo and add a td06sh-20g! Sorry to get your hopes up (I hadn't bothered to look at the FC section that closely). Though, obviously that says a lot about their thoughts on the stock turbo

for interest's sake - with the FD they added power FC + commander, cat-back, hks intakes, downpipe, GTR fuel pump, 'racing' plugs = 352hp @ 0.9kg boost. They note that the turbo will (as we know) happily take more boost and create more hp. I also note that the test car has a sizeable FMIC - something they didn't mention in the parts list :p
