What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator?

My RX has developed an annoying hesitation on initial acceleration at any speed and in any gear. If I'm just cruising along at light throttle everything is fine no bucking or roughness. But slight (not WOT) power on is followed by a moment of "nothing", no power, then a sudden jolt of power and everything is smooth again. All TPS voltages are within spec, according to the PFC. I suspect the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump, but I wanted to get the forum's opinion first.

TIA

Sounds like a TPS problem. Dont they get worn or dirty at a certain throttle % point sometimes? Does it always seem to do it at a certain throttle point, like 20% maybe?

My car does the same damn thing. It does not really want to go anywhere on takeoff or initial acceleration. I had my intake plenum off and I noted that the vacuum line to the pressure regulator had been cut. I think the previous owner did this because I sure as hell did not. Could this have anything to do with my problem? Guess I will post a question regarding this vacuum line.
Thanks
