what is this swollen hose part number


the fat swollen one next to the oil filter

is that a coolant line ? it looks swollen and id like to change it .
or should i leave it be ? why dose it look a little rusted

its a heater hose. if you follow that hose it will lead into a hard line that runs the length of the firewall and terminates next to the bottom of your water pump housing where the lower radiator hose connects. it probably looks rusty from the coolant or from the metal of the hardline portion of it. i would suggest you change it if you it bothers you. is it soft and squishy?

Get 61240a while you're at it. That little disconnect sheared off when I went to change mine on my at the time 62k mile FD.

^Same kind of plastic as the AST. You can also delete it with double clamps like some of us have done. No issues for about 9 years now.
