today i went to check out a rx-7. after i looked around the car i noticed that there was a "special edition" badge on the back of the car and there were also "turbo" badges on the front right and left fenders. all the badges on the car were gold including the the mazda tolite bowl badges. the car was a 93 r-1.

help me out here whats the "special edition" model have over the regular FD's besides gold badges.

o yea 1 more thing the attena ring was also gold

 

those are the special addition badges they added to one very special 93 R1...it puts out a tad over 600 rwhp because of these badges...

 

no but really did mazda make any rx-7's that were named "special edition"?

 

not that I know of. But the spirit R is the only one I know of that is suppose to be special. There is an FC that had a special adition but I dont know much about that one.

Yeah, the owner just put those on there. There was no "special edition" 93. There were a limited number of R1's in the color Competition Yellow Mica, so that could be considered a special edition, but none ever had special badges.
