I ran some air through the engine and this is what came out? It was milky in color and very gritty but it wasn't slimy like oil and coolant mix? Should I run a rust and scare remover?

My two big recommendations on FD cooling systems -

- Drain/fill coolant once a year

- Fill with good quality green coolant (I use Prestone) and DISTILLED WATER. You can get a gallon of distilled water for 89 cents at Walmart, it has NO minerals or anything in it, it's just pure water.

Most of the crap found in the cooling system are minerals that have settled out over time. Change it once a year and use distilled water with good antifreeze and you'll have a happy clean system.

I bought the engine and I was removing everything of it and noticed it. I blew some air through it and it spit this crap out and today the stuff was dry and sandy didn't feel like it had any oil residue

It looks like sand. It could be casting sand from when they cast the housings? Who knows....maybe somebody had to fill the system up with ditch water at some point.
