What should I do first w/ $600
Just received my 95 FD with 48000km already equipped with a 3" inch ti-cat back exhaust. I've got $600 to spend on mods so help a ninja out. What should I do first?

downpipe, AST, and a shitload of silicone hose...
if you have money left over get a radiator, boost gauge, manual boost controller and oil/water temp gauge.
thats just for starters.

fluid change, silicone vacuum hoses, and koyo radiator, I learned that your best buys is to do all the reliability mods first and then focus on power you will get much more enjoyment out of you fd that way

Downpipe is a reliability/performance mod, keeps the heat down that cooks the engine, turbos, and makes the cooling system have to work harder. Also helps turbo spool, and allows the engine to breath better. The silicone hose should definitely be kept in mind, but since its pretty low miles could wait until problems start. Boost gauge should definitely be added right now. Radiator should be on the list of mods if you plan to run higher boost, and/or add a big front mount intercooler, or if your car is already running on the hot side. I'm not sure why I'm listing all this stuff its all found in the FAQ...

appreciatin' the info. I just got the oil changed and a turbo timer I already owned, that was suppose to be put on my SRT-4, installed. When I purchased the car I knew it needed an oil change first...it was used, duh. Researched and saw alot of debates of best oil. So when I went to a referred tuner shop and asked. The owner said, "ahhh F-deda I have the good stuff." He showed me some unheard of brand, some Greddy Rotary oil and lastly the RE Amemiya oil. I know Amemiya when I see it. Like a rich lady and her gucci. It cost around $120 for 5 liters and I also purchased a Blitz oil filter for about $20 bux. I like to spoil my kids. Leaning towards the downpipe and silicone hose. Keep the 'vice coming folx.

The plugs have already been done and as for the turbo timer, it also serves as a voltage meter, I already owned it and it didnt really cost much, maybe $40 bux to install. I heard it was good to run a 2 minute time on them so the oil can flush through the system. As for the fuel filter I have been seeing that, thats another must do...so maybe fuel filter, boost gauge and silicone hose or downpipe...

Not that I kno of. I put my foot into it for the first time and it felt like the boost pattern...10-8-10 or what not. Nice bit of power in the first few rpms lil drop around 4-5 and some nice pull in the uppers. I was a lil surprised and disappointed to know my srt would stomp it...at least right now anyway. Don't hear any boost leaks either...(whoosh or wheeeen)

well, you def don't need the pineapple dual EGT gauge, first you're pretty much stock, even if it showed a bad reading you couldn't tune it do much about it. and second, it doesn't log anything so it won't help much.
Downpipe, fluids, and fuel filter FTW.
And there is no reason to let your turbo timer run for two minutes, just don't boost when you pull into your driveway, then shut the car off normally. If you've been driving really hard, cost into your driveway, undo your seat belt, open the door, then shut it off. that should be plenty of time unless you are at a track

Unfortunately that was after the oil change. But my SRT isn't that stock either. Newly replaced factory turbo, FMIC, BOV, intake, stg. 1 clutch/flywheel, rebuilt trans., engine mounts, STS, and other mods that aren't power relevant. However the oil change has definitely seemed to help it run much cooler. When I first received the car you could really feel the heat even on a short drive. And the oil was blacker than my keyboard.
