What should I ask for my RX7?

I am looking to sell my 1993 Touring addition Black on Tan Leather. It has 109k miles on it. Body is very clean and free of dents and dings, paint is still very glossy and shiny. Interior has minor wear but is in overall good condition to compareable 7's. I am trying to decide what to ask for my car. I want to ask a reasonable price that is not too far fetched. The car has installed on it the following.

Rotary Resurection Large street port motor
HKS stainless tubular T4 exh. manifold
HKS Standard wastegate
Innovative 60-1 Dual BB .70 A/R COMP. .84 A/R divided T4 Hotside
Custom 3" downpipe with wideband 02 port
Apexi N1 exhaust
TRUST FMIC with custom piping
Apexi twin chamber BOV
Fluidyne Aluminum radiator
Aluminum AST tank
4 X 850 cc Injectors
Nippondenso intank fuel pump
Apexi Power FC with commander
Autometer Boost gauge
Autometer Water Temp gauge
ACT clutch
Tokico 5 way adj. shocks all around
Suspension Specialties springs (RX7.com kit)
Bonez stage I brake upgrade kit (RX7.com kit)

In addition to these performance upgrades the following mantinance items have been addressed as well

New Water pump/Thermostat (MAZDA OEM)
ALL suspension bushings (MAZDA OEM)
Transmission FULLY rebuilt as of 12/12/02

ALL items have less than 3k miles on them.

Thanks for your help. If anyone is interested in the car please PM or e-mail me, thanks.

If the paint and interior are really in good shape, then I wouldn't settle for less than $21-22k. That's assuming the engine was rebuilt well and the single turbo has been tuned properly.

Car was just recently put together. I have had it on the road maybe four or five times max. I have not even got on boost or pushed the car at all. The car is only roughly tuned and WOULD need to be properly tuned to achieve it's true potential. I had Innovative build this turbo for me for a large street port motor that would be AWSOME on the street. I wish I could keep the car but I unfortuneatly can no longer afford to keep up with my project. Thanks for the input guys keep it comming.

If anyone is interested in the car please let me know, thanks.

Not every FD buyer is a high school or college student...there are plenty of people who can pay cash.

I'm surprised by how many low-ballers are responding to the poll. Come on guys, the paint and interior is in good shape and he's replaced all the **** that wears out at that mileage already...along with all of the mods to support a single turbo. And a fresh rebuild.

Unless you get desperate, I wouldn't take less than $20k for the car. If the car was fully tuned and ready to go, I wouldn't take less than $21-22k.

Seems like thats how most of the forum is now, as the FD has gotten cheaper, so has the new ownership.

They expect everything to be Honda cheap now..

A year or two ago, not a single post about ADR rims (or APR wings, altezza lights), now thats all people want.. used to be the fd's you'd see in the street were well kept, now quiet a few are buckets.. at least around here.

I too cannot believe the number of low ballers on this forum. Everyone thinks they can get everything so cheap anymore..

I wouldn't take less than 20k either. It's well worth it regardless of what the low-ballers say.

Since I already have one FD that I paid $22k for 4 years ago I don't see a reason to have two in my garage. Thanks for trolling!

I'd have no problems paying him $18k for that car if I decided my garage needed a 2nd FD in it.

So I'm a troll? Just because i'm new to the forums, and looking for information on rx7s doesn't mean i'm a troll. He's looking for $18k...feel free to give him $20k +. I've owned many high end imports and hope to have an rx7 in a few weeks

So, basically you are coming on here and spouting off **** when you have no knowledge of what you are talking about...

BTW, I paid $19k for my 95. In cash. Kwikrx7 sold his nicely modded FD for over $20k. Like I said, not everyone who buys an FD is a student. There are many people who will pay over $20k for a well sorted out FD.

Your in luck...I am looking to sell my RX7 in a few weeks and you are looking for one in a few weeks. How soon are you really looking to buy? Drop me a message and let's see if we can strike us a deal. Thanks.

I must say I shopped for a year or so and a lot of the ones I saw 6/8 months ago are still there. Once you are upside-down in one you normally stay that way.

Well, its true that there are a lot that are beat to hell with owners asking too much, but that doesn't mean the ones that truely are nice are worth any less.

Actually, he's right.

The asking price for the car needs to be realistic and in line with how anxious the owner is to sell. If he needs to make the sale soon for financial reasons (as it appears), telling him to hold out for $20k+ is pointless. While there might be people willing to pay that much, connecting with one and actually getting the transaction closed is going to take time. Potentially a lot of time. This isn't about what the car is "worth", it's about what he needs to get out of it and what someone in the market now is willing to pay for it.

In my opinion, asking other people what to sell your car for is almost as pointless as asking them how much power it will make with X mods or what it will run in the quarter mile...
