What seats fit???

Instead of searching decade old threads. Curious to know what seats fit in an fd? I've seen bride sr2 . What others fit to add some headroom? Do bride vorgas fit?

OEM Spirit R or if you like black, RZ seats will fit. Better open up your wallet and bend over though.

This depends on how big you are, whether you care about being perfectly in line with the steering wheel, and whether you are willing to cut the door cards.

Most of the seats that will fit perfectly and add headroom are designed for skinny bastards.

I've had my eyes on these seats for awhile too and wonder the same. I did search all the old threads and couldn't find any info on people running these in their FD

Why does it matter if the thread is older? Some of the most useful knowledge on this forum that I've found was from reading through 20 year old threads.

The dimensions of your car haven't changed; if something fit in 2015, it'll still fit today.

yes old threads are informative. But some people might have used different seats or did different things that don't reach these threads. Maybe just by word of mouth or seeing them somewhere else.

Just be ready to spend some serious money if you want a folding seat that’s lighter than the stock seats. Seriously, Mazda did a great job saving weight there.

Not working how? Not enough headroom? Legroom? Too tight? Too low in the shoulders?

All of the above? Do you have a sunroof?

It's a bride fixed back ,size small seat. It's made for tiny people. Legs are squeezed together so tight. I only fit in no sunroof models.so yes no sunroof. This is my 2nd fd. First one had no sunroof, stock seats. 330m steering wheel deep dish.with 1inch spacer.and was fine.so trying to get this one there but also get lower sitting seats.since I need seats anyways.

Why exactly do you want a reclining seat? Because it's easier to get in and out (because of lower side bolsters), or do you actually need the reclining function?
There are only a handful of seats big enough for big and tall drivers that will actually fit an FD with a full interior.
If you need to absolutely slam the seat AND have it on rails, that number is even smaller. If you need it to also be reclining, that number is basically zero.

You might need to considering something like a Tillet on floor-mounted fixed brackets.

What's your weight and waist size?

Recaros are designed for skinny, average height people.
If the seat isn't specifically designed for large people, someone the size of Beach3um isn't going to fit well.

Unfortunately, the only way to know if a seat will fit you is to sit in it. This is pretty hard if you don't live near one a showroom or know someone with a particular seat.

The biggest issue is usually hip width and shoulder height (especially if you are using racing belts).

I lost a ton of weight, but I still can't fit in "normal" sized sport/racing seats.

That's why I recommend the XL Tillets for big drivers in small cars. They're so narrow they'll fit in basically anything. Even without shoulder bolsters, they have plenty of hold when you're strapped in.

Send them an email and ask for recommendations.

If I was starting over, I'd get one of the newer models with higher shoulder belt holes and a more upright seating angle.

If I tilt the seat back on my B6XL for a perfect position, the slack angle makes it hard to reach the shifter for me.
So, I have to compromise on leg support somewhat. But when actually driving, I don't really notice the lack of leg support.

If you have short legs and long arms, it might be perfect, though.

Rather than paying extra for the suede pads, I might get the whole thing covered in suede.

I will admit the high side bolsters make the car really hard to get it into and out of. You basically have to crawl in.

They might not fit the car, though... To be honest, you don't really miss the reclining function. It's just harder to get in and out because of the bolsters.

I don't think you'll find anything reclining that will give you enough headroom for a helmet, but you might be fine if you're not tracking the car.

yea I won't be tracking car.closest place is two hours away. And time for that just doesn't exist in my life anymore.

Question, what steering wheel setup do you have? I had a deep dish 350mm with nrg quick release. it was perfect.but cant figure out which one it was

Reclining is nice if you have 2t oil in the bins. Bit of a pain to get there with a fixed seat

yea. I can't do fixed. Think I found seats I'm buying. Recaro sr3 with new upholstery. If I use bride seat rails for fd .they fit right in.
