Question what sacrifices have you made to buy or keep you FD?

for me i have sold my integra gsr to get a honda crx.
the crx is gonna be my daily driver 110hp at the fly (cuts down my insurence in half.)
i work friday and saturday nights for the past year to save up enough for my FD and I am about to take out a 6k student loan just so i can own a FD.
my parents and friends think i am crazy. i will do anything to own another FD (dad crashed the first one)
what have u guys done just to keep your 7's

Your dad crashed the first one? Heh, you're only crazy if you let him drive it again

I'll find out what I'll do to keep mine soon. My kid should be born in the next few days... ;-)

I delayed college to have the FD... not the smartest move but I enjoy my car for everything it's worth.

congrats artowar2!!

I have a 2000 gsr (DAILY) and a 1994 RX-7(RACE/WEEKEND).

Adding up all the money spent between the two probably a good $45,000 and a second job. Lost a girlfriend, not many dates now (due to having no extra cash) = less *****

**** man, both cars are worth it !!

98 Ford Explorer

Of course still trying to sell that piece of ****...man you guys thought the FD is unreliable

Dad bought me the RX-7. I can't believe the deal I got on this baby. As much as I love it, if the price was right I'd part with it for a Supra (don't call me a sell out )

Arrow I've done it all!!!!

Hi guys, I've done all kinds of suff, not to buy the car but for upgrading. Loans that I've almost finished paying back, credit cards, borrowing from friends and family, two jobs(not anymore though), Laying tile and carpet, fixing problems on other peoples cars and bolt ons, sell crap on ebay or the parts trader the list just goes on and on.. I'll do almost anything to get the beast running 9's(not their yet) and to hook up my 87' N/A and 84' Rx7's. I know I've spent crazy $$$$ on these cars but I would'nt have it any other way.

Talking No sacrifice too great

Refinanced the house. My X G/F was more high maintenance then the 7...she's gone. I didn't get to buy my Yamaha R1 though

My 7's insurance is cheaper than my CRX though. You must be way younger than me and have a '93 (94 & 95 have a "2" airbag discount).

I have moved out of my apartment, and moved back into my brothers house, just so i can drop this one years' salary into my car. Thats also the reason why i have been away from the forums, bc ive been working car and job. I love my car sooo much, me and Genn have become closer after the last accident Wow, my car is like a 3rd girlfriend, hehhe.

To get the car though, i had to wrap my daily 96' 240 sx around a pole, then the insurance check i recieved was enough combined with my savings to get the car. I guess you could say my 240 was a steppingstone to something better.

well, i'll check back in a month or so with the progress on "Project SRx-71"

Damn and I thought I was crazy...

I go to school in Tampa FL, where the college living conditions is second to none(home is Philly) and I bought my R1 over winter break...well to put it short the car is driving me to leave here and go to a Penn State satellite campus and live at home just so I can work and drop some flow into my 7...I am also seriously contemplating taking a year off and dump all of the money into the car, but I am afraid if I do that I will never go back to school Thats a big no-no, I gotta get my journalism degree and work for Car and Driver .

So basically, I am throwing away the best college experience anyone can ask for in return for a nasty, nasty car. But I don't care, I love the thing...

I sold my little sister, and one of my kidneys. Haa haa just joking....I don't even have a little sister....anymore! I really haven't sacrificed anything for the car. But it has been pretty nasty to me this far. New engine, trannys on its way out, and something really screwed up with the rear end. I'm getting a warranty. Who cares how much it'll cost!!
