I'm replacing the diff in my car and this is what I'm going to replace while it's out, can you think of anything else?

Pillow ball bushings in the rearend
Diff mounts

How many miles does your car have? I would say to also replace the shifter bushing... the one at the bottom of the stick. I just did that my shifter is much tighter.

You can change the shifter bushings easily from inside of the car - not really something to do while you're in there .

Could be a few things. One that came to mind was Motor mount. Also check out Mazdatrix website. They have a great transmission troubleshooting guide right on thier site.

4.30 sounds nice but the price doesn't, I just don't think it's worth it at all.

If your shifter shakes pretty bad at idle, I would assume a motor mount or tranny mount.

Wow, no one suggested changing the PITA fuel filter just because it must be 100 times easier with the diff out.

edit: OOOPs..nevermind..that is one your list to to dos

wow really?

I was thinking about the wheel bearings too. I remember someone talking about them a while back but couldn't find much info.

So I should check the motor mounts?

Where can I confirm this?

Also, it doesn't shake too bad, it just gets hard to shift while the car is moving and even when its parked and it doesn't slide like most manuals.

I never driven a manual besides my car so I don't know what a used manual feels like, but i know it feels nothing like the new evo or the new 8.

Where can I get new shifter brushings and where do I install them as I have never done brushings before in my life.
