For having so little Hp they are very fast from the factory

Well, 255hp back in 1992-3 was actually a pretty big deal. Now, cars are coming out with more power standard, but the weight of the FD was also what made it quick. The power to weight ratio, which a lot of people forget about also plays a big part in it.

Yeah, as Mahjik points out, the automotive world was stunned when the FD came out and delivered on all that Mazda had promised, i.e. a 2800 lb. car in the 5 second zero-to-60 class. There were few competitors for it at the time.
Now, nearly 10 years later, it is still a "contender".......

Actually, more than 10 years. I believe eventhough they were a 93 model instead of coming out in 9/92 like most 93's did they came out in 3/92.

Damn, its hard to believe a 10year old car is still competing with newer cars and fit in with the syling as well!!!!!! Take a look at the Mustangs and Z28's from 93......lol
